Video Snippet Kansas City Live - See Jordan Hass and Cael Kuhn perform "Where is Love?".
Based on the Dickens novel, Oliver! engaged audiences with its drama of sadness and new hope for the orphan Oliver Twist as he navigated the streets of London. Everyone was delighted with its outstanding musical numbers including Food, Glorious Food, I'd Do Anything, Where is Love?, Consider Yourself, As Long As He Needs Me, Who Will Buy which are all musical theatre classics.
The directing team had a special interest in directing this show. Their first priority was making it a fun and educational environment for the children in the cast. Several have gone on to expand their interest and participation in other theatrical opportunities. Both feel that the arts not only assist in the development of character but also have a strong impact on their future achievements. Please support your educational systems and arts programs through participation and attendance.
The directing team also wanted to provide more opportunities for the youth cast. "We did not turn anyone away or not cast them in the show, all of the youth who auditioned were offered parts" noted the team. At first there was some concern of having a too large cast, but as it turned out, there was a cast and crew of over 70 people, but a show that equaled it in budding talent. They also double cast two individual characters, Oliver and the Artful Dodger, so as to give a better opportunity to four very talented actors.
